Job Description

We are now seeking a Finance Assistant to join our small team based in Gatwick. Taking responsibility for providing administrative support and ensuring the creation of accurate and reliable data, whilst providing our staff and customers with an outstanding level of service in finance matters.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm.

Job responsibilities of Finance Assistant include:

  • Raising of purchase orders
  • Checking accuracy of purchase invoices and nominal coding
  • Update of purchase order logs
  • Reconciliation of weekly subcontract costs and resolving queries
  • Reconciliation and management of petty cash
  • Preparation of weekly costings
  • Reconcile of 3rd party volume data
  • Manage the weekly debt report
  • Purchase ledger entry onto SAGE Cloud 50 including checks against POs/Indigo/timesheets/delivery notes etc – raising queries where necessary
  • Fuel & vehicle mileage data input / spreadsheets including processing fuel invoices & fuel surcharge administration
  • Raising customer invoices on various platforms
  • Handling related invoice queries and issuing credit notes
  • Processing bank entries and month-end bank reconciliation
  • Payroll processing (SAGE Payroll) and daily control of payroll spreadsheet
  • Pricing checks (daily & weekly)
  • Supplier payments and month end reconciliation to balance sheet
  • Processing Corporate Credit Card Accounts and month-end reconciliation
  • Chasing debtor payments and ensuring funds received within agreed terms
  • Liaising with Suppliers & External Finance Departments
  • PCN processing and recharges to employees when required
  • Assisting with month-end processes, including job profitability reporting
  • Assisting with external audit preparation (ongoing throughout the year)
Qualifications

To apply for the role of Finance Assistant, you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

  • Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year
  • Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business
  • Knowledge of SAGE 50 would be advantageous
  • PC Literate in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise & meet deadlines
