A leading educational institution seeks a highly organised Finance Assistant to support the Finance Manager. The role involves maintaining Purchase Ledgers, managing credit control, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The Finance Department is seeking to recruit a highly organised individual to support the Finance Manager and the wider team.
The main purpose of this role is to maintain the Purchase Ledgers for Bolton School, BSSL, and Nursery, as well as other expenditure records, and to manage the credit control function for fee collection.
Responsibilities include preparing and verifying invoices for accuracy, obtaining authorisation from budget holders, processing weekly and monthly BACS payments, filing invoices and payment records, and reconciling supplier statements.
The postholder will also oversee the school's credit control, monitor billing accounts, contact parents regarding overdue payments, issue statements and reminders, and keep accurate communication records.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Finance Department, with skills in managing and reporting financial data, and competence in credit control processes.
