Responsible to: The Financial Controller

Salary: Circa £30k

Pension:Salary exchange group scheme

Working hours:40 hours per week,

Holiday: 31 days (including bank holidays)

Overview:

This is a new role within the Edward Vinson Group, which has arisen due to the continuing growth and demands of the business. Although a long-established, profitable, family-owned business, the Group is at the beginning of a very exciting stage. With significant investment currently being made into new facilities, there is an opportunity for a motivated individual to immerse themselves in the business and generate tangible improvements in both operations and profitability.

In line with the culture of the Group, there will be a significant hands-on element to the role and the successful candidate must be willing to perform a variety of tasks and work as part of a team.

This is a developmental role, with expectation that the successful candidate will progress their technical and professional skills and study towards a professional qualification.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable – assist with account reconciliation, invoice and payment processing, and related administration (including new supplier setup)
  • Assist in the revamp of utility billing and drive the install of smart meters on all meters
  • Assist collating, and going forwards, maintaining, a full list of equipment, houses & fields.
  • Assist in launch of new expense system for the group
  • Assist FC & FM to initiate the process of cost vs benefit analysis of ERP options
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Continue to take on additional tasks and responsibilities in line with developing skills and experience
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Assist with providing information required as part of the external audit process
  • Other ad-hoc duties

Qualifications, skills, ability and/or experience:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
  • Highly inquisitive and confident at putting ideas forward
  • Personable, enthusiastic and approachable
  • Flexible in duties
  • Well-presented and professional attitude
