Finance Assistant

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to support a busy charity head office finance team and help ensure animals receive the care they deserve.

Position: Finance Assistant
Salary: £12.40 - £12.60 per hour (£7,737.60 - £7,862.40 per annum)
Location: Head Office, Tyler’s Way, Watford-by-Pass, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD25 8WT
Hours: Part-time, 12 hours per week (flexible working pattern)
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 5th September 2025 (may close early if filled)

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate processing and reporting of key financial data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing monthly financial transactions and reconciling with Sage and bank statements
  • Nominal account code analysis
  • Preparing month-end accruals, depreciation, and prepayments
  • Producing monthly centre analysis reports for income and expenditure trend analysis
  • Supporting administrative tasks required within the finance function
  • Providing support and cover for other members of the finance team

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to meet deadlines and work efficiently
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with working knowledge of Sage Accounts
  • Positive, proactive, and a great team player
