Job description

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Finance Assistant on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the accounts payable function, including paying outstanding debts, contacting suppliers, and maintaining communication records.
  2. Resolve supplier queries efficiently to minimize late payments.
  3. Reduce aged balances proactively and find solutions to non-payment issues.
  4. Support monthly payroll for 270 staff members and related activities.
  5. Work comfortably with Sage 50 accounts & payroll software.
  6. Liaise with staff and partners to resolve client queries.
  7. Assist with other finance team tasks, such as processing credit card payments, analyzing overhead expenditures, and setting up new staff accounts.
  8. Provide cover for posting receipts and bank reconciliations during holiday periods.
  9. Perform other finance duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with Sage 50 accounts & payroll.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills within a finance environment.
