Job description

Location: The Green House, St John’s Town of Dalry, Castle Douglas, DG7 3XS (Hybrid working considered)
Hours: 30 to 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Reports to: Construction Administration Manager

We’re looking for a Construction Finance Assistant to join our dynamic construction team based in the beautiful surroundings of St John’s Town of Dalry.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of numbers, systems, and people — supporting project managers and clients with financial insights and reporting that keep our construction projects running smoothly and sustainably.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and support the invoicing process for construction projects
  • Assist in budget tracking, internal/external financial reporting, and forecasting
  • Support the monthly management accounts process including accruals, prepayments and WIP
  • Be a key finance liaison, responding to internal and external finance queries
  • Work closely with clients and project managers to manage fees, variations, and updates
  • Help close projects, maintain system data, and contribute to pipeline reporting

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong IT skills – especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A full UK driving licence (due to rural office location)

Desirable:

  • Finance or accountancy qualifications
  • Knowledge of project budgeting and invoicing processes
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • A background in construction or renewable energy
