Job summary

RealVNC is seeking a Finance Assistant to support UK and US entities within a growing, PE-backed business. You will manage purchase ledgers, expenses, reconciliations and assist month‑end closures in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers exposure to core financial processes, a hybrid work model with travel to Cambridge or London as needed, and a benefits package including pension, car leasing and private medical coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience handling financial transactions and posting entries.
• Familiar with key accounting terms and principles.
• Proactive, with strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
• Comfortable collaborating with many teams and stakeholders.
• AAT Level 2 or university accounting degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Post invoices and manage payments in Purchase Ledger.
• Prepare monthly management accounts including journals and prepayments.
• Assist with actual vs budget analysis for monthly management accounts.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Manage Fixed Asset Register and assist in audits.
• Support delivery of audit requirements.

Position

We're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Finance Assistant to join our evolving Finance team, responsible for entities in both the UK and US. In this role, you will take ownership of several key components of the accounting cycle including purchase ledger, employee expenses, bank reconciliations and finance mailbox management, along with contributing to month end close procedures and analysis.

Working as part of a small team, this role is a great opportunity to gain experience across a breadth of core financial processes within a fast-paced private equity backed business with global reach.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase Ledger - posting of invoices and setting up payments
• Production of monthly management accounts, including journal postings in areas such as fixed assets, prepayments and accruals
• Assist with monthly management accounts actual v budget analysis
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Fixed Asset Register management
• Assist in delivery of audit requirements

Requirements

• Have demonstratable experience of financial transactions and processing.
• Are familiar with the key accountancy terms and principles.
• Operate with a high level of attention to detail.
• Are proactive and take ownership of your work.
• Are able to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level.
• Demonstrate excellent analytical skills.
• Have strong organisational skills.
• Are comfortable working collaboratively with a wide range of teams and internal and external stakeholders.
• Hold an AAT Level 2 qualification or university degree in Accounting or similar or have the equivalent demonstrable experience.

Anything Else

• Experience of purchase ledger.
• Familiarity with and using finance platforms including Xero.
• Experience with SaaS / subscription models would be beneficial.
