Job description

The Role:

As a Finance Assistant for the Colonis Pharma business, you will take individual responsibility for processing all financial transactions for the business aligned to the timetable set by the business and allowing the business the information upon which to base decisions. The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the transactions aspects of the company.


Key Responsibilities:


Maintain the sales ledger including:


  1. Uploading sales invoices and credit notes daily/weekly from 3PL portal and reconciling the data to ensure completeness of information
  2. Reconciliation of customer accounts and remittances from 3PL
  3. Raise sales invoices for non-UK sales
  4. Maintain customer master data
  5. Ensure that aged debt is followed up with customers
  6. Ensure VAT is recorded correctly
  7. Post revaluation adjustments

Maintain the purchase ledger including:


  1. Processing supplier invoices
  2. Maintain supplier master data
  3. Agreeing purchase ledger with supplier records requesting supplier statements and reconciling to Sage on a regular basis
  4. Prepare payment runs and complete cash postings
  5. Post revaluation adjustments
  6. Post IC consolidation journal

Month/year end responsibilities:


  1. Management and reconciliation of company bank accounts on a weekly basis
  2. Reconciling balance sheet accounts for debtors, creditors and cash
  3. Posting of month end journals & other ad hoc journals
  4. Upload of data into group consolidation systems
  5. Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc month end tasks as required
  6. Assist with annual financial statements & year end audit
  7. Contributing to the continued development of systems within the business
  8. Supporting the Finance Director & Finance Manager with ad hoc requests for data

Requirements:


  1. Experience working within a Finance Assistant role on both sales and purchase ledger
  2. AAT qualified or working towards a qualification
  3. Understanding of accounting principles & VAT principles
  4. Experience with accounting software packages, ideally SAGE
  5. Good MS Office Excel literacy, including pivot tables & vlookups
  6. Excellent communication skills & team player
  7. A desire to learn and work proactively
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Motivated by continuous improvement
  10. Positive and friendly attitude
