Finance Assistant

Our Birmingham-based manufacturing client is seeking a motivated Finance Assistant to support its finance department. Reporting to the Finance/HR Manager, you will provide essential finance-focused administrative support. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software and previous exposure to areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, or general finance.

Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts line, handling queries efficiently and professionally
  • Administer invoicing, including accurate coding within the SAP system
  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring all details are correct and compliant
  • Oversee the invoice lifecycle and maintain accurate records throughout the month
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly
  • Process incoming payments via the virtual terminal and ensure accurate posting
  • Issue monthly statements at month-end, including initial credit control correspondence
  • Provide support with weekly payroll processing
  • Assist with HR administration tasks as required

Finance Assistant Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in accounts administration
  • Proficient in accounting software with strong IT and Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and workload management abilities
  • Minimum 1 year in an accounting role (essential)
