Job summary

MCS Group are partnering with a leading organisation in their search for a Finance Assistant. In Belfast, you will gain experience across cash management, banking, payments and reconciliations within a large organisation.

The role suits a finance professional with strong attention to detail, good Excel skills and an interest in developing their Treasury experience. Hybrid working and onsite parking are available, with development opportunities in Treasury and wider finance.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Finance/Accounting environment or a third-level HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Business or Finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse information and resolve issues effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile banking, payment and receipt transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Prepare and review journals, month-end and year-end reconciliations, working papers and management reports.
• Process and authorise payments including BACS, Faster Payments, CHAPS, foreign currency payments and cheques.
• Monitor customer payments and credit card receipts, investigating and resolving reconciliation issues.
• Maintain daily bank reconciliations and work with internal teams and external providers to resolve queries.
• Support cash management, banking relationships and Treasury processes, ensuring strong financial controls are maintained.
• Use Excel and financial systems to analyse data, maintain accurate records and support continuous process improvements.
