Job summary

Arqit is expanding its Belfast Finance Operations Centre and seeking a Finance Assistant to own day-to-day transactional activities. Based in Belfast city centre with hybrid working, you will process invoices, raise sales invoices, perform bank reconciliations and support treasury tasks.

You will work towards accounting qualifications (AAT/ACCA/CIMA), bring strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive team spirit to help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Transactional finance experience in AP/AR or treasury.
• Pursuing an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems; NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
• Track record of success in academic and professional achievements.
• Right to work in the UK without visa restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Process and match purchase invoices (approximately 50 per month) and ensure suppliers are paid within terms.
• Raise sales invoices and support the cash collection process.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations across all Group entities.
• Manage treasury activities, reconciling transactions and preparing weekly cash position reports.
• Assist with monthly accruals, prepayments and allocation entries.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the Purchase Order process with budget holders across the business.
• Assist with statutory reporting by providing supporting schedules when requested.

We have a new opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our Belfast team and take ownership of day-to-day transactional finance activities. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to develop their career in a dynamic, fast-growing listed business.

The role is based in our Belfast city centre office, with flexibility for hybrid working.

What you'll be doing

• Process and match purchase invoices (approximately 50 per month) and ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms
• Raise sales invoices and support the cash collection process
• Perform daily bank reconciliations across all Group entities
• Manage treasury activities, reconciling approximately 60 transactions per month and preparing weekly cash position reports
• Assist with the preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments and allocation entries
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the Purchase Order process, working with budget holders across the business
• Assist with statutory reporting by providing supporting schedules when requested

What we're looking for

We would expect candidates for this role to meet most or all of the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a transactional finance role (AP, AR or treasury)
• Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) is advantageous
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems; NetSuite experience is a plus
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team
• A track record of success in academic and professional achievements
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• The right to work in the UK without visa restrictions is essential.
