We are seeking a motivated Finance Apprentice to join our Professional Services Finance team in January 2025, providing a comprehensive Finance service to the Department of Medicine.
The role is hybrid, with office days being based in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. During your 1.5-year apprenticeship, you will form a key part in the day-to-day processes of the Finance team working to provide timely, accurate and professional administrative support to Finance and a wide range of different areas and projects that impact the Departments alongside studying the AAT Level 3 qualification.You will be responsible for providing support to the Finance team to assist the smooth running of finance processes, including grants administration, as well as providing support with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration. You will learn on the job by working with an experienced professional service team and have allocated study time to complete course work.
You will report to the Senior Research Grants Coordinator and will be working closely with the professional services teams and wider University.
Ideally you will have excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel. While accounts experience is not necessary, you must be willing to learn and put in the necessary work to gain the Level 3 accounting qualification. A basic knowledge of accounts and mathematics however is desirable.
