Job summary

Greenhous is expanding its finance team and is looking for an Accounts Assistant Apprentice to join the finance team and start a rewarding career in finance and accounting. The role will be based at Greenhous Shrewsbury initially before moving to the Head Office in High Ercall, with attendance at Shrewsbury College one day per week and four days on site.

You will gain hands-on experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, payments and general finance administration, with

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Basic IT skills with confidence in Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in finance and accounting and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for developing new skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to commit to an apprenticeship and attend college weekly.
• Willingness to work four days per week on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accurate processing of purchase and sales invoices.
• Support the finance team with ledger duties.
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
• Support processing and allocation of payments and receipts.
• Assist with supplier and customer account queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Assist with checking invoices, purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Provide general administrative support to the wider finance team.
