Finance and Portfolio Associate, Private Equity Fund

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with a commercial spirit to take ownership of a Portfolio and Fund Accounting role, to learn and develop all areas within Private Equity Finance and to improve in an exciting firm that is growing rapidly. The role is a crucial conduit between Finance, Investment team and the portfolio companies.

As the fund continues to scale, they're looking for a talented individual to help professionalise the Finance function and support the team as they grow. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate collation of monthly Portfolio trading data and assist the Financial Controller with the Fund accounting for the private equity funds under management.

The job in three bullets:

• Take ownership of the collation process of monthly trading data from the various Portfolio companies within the Funds.
• Support the Financial Controller across all areas of Fund Accounting, Valuations and Transactions.
• Grow with the role over time and gain the trust of the Finance Director, Managing Partners, Investment Leads and wider team to take on more and more direct responsibility.

The day job on arrival:

• Liaise with the Investment Team and Portfolio Companies to ensure timely and accurate trading figures are collected from each investment on a monthly basis, taking ownership and becoming the in-house expert of the collation software.
• Providing the Investment Committee and Client Services with Portfolio Level Data and KPIs
• Assist with the fund accounting for Private Equity Funds (plus co-investment vehicles) including liaising with the Fund Administrator and Depositaries.
• Engaging with the external Fund Administrators to create Capital Calls and Distribution Notices to investors.
• Assist the Investment and Finance team with funding transactions.
• Ad hoc projects including system and process improvement and fundraising support.

Who we're looking for:

• A qualified accountant, proven post qualification experience within Private Equity or another relevant Financial Services environment.
• Experience in preparation of accounts and exposure to closed-ended fund structures.
• Highly numerate, strong communication skills and experience in dealing with accounting/reporting software
