Job Title: Finance and Business Compliance Manager - UK & Ireland

This position is designed for individuals with a strong background in finance who possess the agility and potential to expand into broader operational responsibilities. The Regional Finance & Business Compliance Manager will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including financial and operational reporting, business management, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and standards. In this role you will manage the UK and Ireland region, and will also be responsible for the day to day financial management, planning and reporting of our UK Sales operating company.


This role will focus on:

  • Financial Oversight: Supervise and manage financial reporting within the region ensuring accurately and timely reporting, to fulfil Group and local statutory requirements:
    • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and present P&L statements, conduct variance analysis, and provide insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
    • Compliance and Strategic Planning: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements and use P&L insights to support strategic business decisions.
  • Team Management: Line manage a combination of Finance Managers and Finance Assistants across multiple countries within the EMEA division, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Regional Finance & Business Compliance Managers within EMEA and the Head of Finance & Business Compliance to share insights, best practice and fulfil reporting requirements.
  • Sales Understanding: Collaborate with sales colleagues to gain insights into their processes and challenges, enhancing financial forecasts, improving decision-making, and streamlining operational efficiency.
  • Approval Processes: Oversee and approve financial transactions and adjustments, including capital expenditure, current asset write downs, stock adjustments, third-party supplier orders, payroll and banking, in line with Group control requirements and DOA.
  • Ensuring Compliance: to internal controls, responding to Group risk assessments and audits. Overseeing statutory compliance and local reporting requirements within the Region.
  • EHS Management and Reporting: Oversee Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the management of facilities within the Region, ensuring they meet operational needs and comply with safety standards.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Implement and monitor sustainability practices, ensuring the business meets environmental goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in and manage community engagement initiatives to foster positive relationships with local communities.
  • Director signatory: Possible requirement to be a Company Directory, and fulfill associated Director responsibilities, including acting as signatory for contracts and documentation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in Finance, with experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret sales and financial data to drive informed decisions.
  • Capable of synthesising complex information into simple, impactful reports.
  • The agility to take on additional operational duties and learn in the flow of work.
  • A proactive approach to managing diverse tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing teams across multiple countries is desirable.
