Job description

We are looking to appoint a talented manager to lead the administration and finance team within the Property and Estates services. You will be providing a central point of contact for colleagues, customers, and partners. You will be responsible for the delivery of organisational objectives and providing a high-quality service to customers, so exemplar organisation skills are essential.

You will provide top-level advice, services, and leadership to guide management decision-making and strategy development. You will also provide swift and effective resolution of problems and issues and the planning, development, and implementation of solutions to meet Council and customer partners' requirements.

You will line manage, support, and oversee the responsibilities of team members providing clear direction and guidance to aid their professional development.

As part of this role, you will be making a positive contribution towards the City Council’s Corporate Plan 2024-2028.

The successful candidate will have:

  • proven technical administrative skills and a record of accomplishment for delivering administrative outcomes
  • excellent IT skills, able to use all Microsoft Office software
  • a willingness to be trained on internal systems
  • excellent communication skills across a variety of methods and with people at all levels
  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and organise workload and deal with conflicting deadlines
