Job summary

American Express is offering a Summer Internship Programme within the Finance Team in London, designed for high‑performing students. You will work on a strategic project, gain hands-on experience across Issuer, Merchant, Network, and FP&A, and learn how data drives decision making.

You'll analyze financial data, leverage AI tools to boost productivity, and present insights to senior Finance leaders. This is a collaborative program that builds business acumen, communication, and professional

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree with a predicted 2:1 and graduation in 2028.
• Interest in payments industry, revenue generation and Blue Box Values.
• Ability to generate hypotheses, manage large datasets, and share actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Join a Finance team working with Issuer, Merchant, Network, FP&A, Controllership, or Pricing.
• Own a business-critical project to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze financial and operational data (P&L: Billings, Revenue, Expenses) to uncover insights.
• Use generative AI to improve productivity, develop insights, and support business objectives.
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the business to understand drivers of performance and develop data-driven recommendations.
• Build and present a story from your analysis to senior Finance leaders with a final presentation.
• Showcase work and recommendations to leadership at program end.
