Job Purpose

This is a key role within the Property and Investments Finance team with responsibility for the financial management of the Property Costs of Superdrug (c.800 stores) and for working with the Senior Property Finance Analyst to improve processes in these areas. You will also be involved with the management of the Rent costs for our sister company Savers (c.500 stores). You will act as the Finance Business Partner for members of the Property Function, helping them with queries, forecasting and budgeting and providing them with information that enables them to deliver company targets and business profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all costs controlled by the Property Function, including Rent, Rates and Service Charges.
  • Own the posting of certain Property Costs as part of month-end processes, ensuring robust controls, accurate accounting and Balance Sheet reconciliations with insight.
  • Prepare flash reports prior to month end and participate in month-end meetings to provide variance insight where appropriate.
  • Support a selection of Property Cost Centres at month end.
  • Update Oracle Property Manager monthly for changes in leases and assist with IFRS16 reporting tasks.
  • Work with the Senior Finance Analyst to establish regular reporting and analysis of Property Costs.
  • Support the Senior Finance Analyst with Quarterly Forecasting and Annual Budgeting for Property Costs.
  • Substitute for the Senior Finance Analyst in their absence.
  • Develop an understanding of all areas controlled by the Property function to support adhoc analyses and assist the wider Property and Investments Finance team when appropriate.
Person Specification
  • At least part qualified CIMA/ACCA
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel essential
  • Working knowledge of Oracle desirable
  • Knowledge of Management Accounts essential
  • Experience of working within a Retail environment preferable
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships across the business and with external stakeholders, including non-finance customers
  • Self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic

Hours

37.5 hours per week | 9:00am – 5:30pm. Hybrid working available depending on role responsibilities with 2 days working from home and 3 days in our office near East Croydon Station.
