Job summary

Mamas & Papas is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant at our Huddersfield head office. You will support month-end, forecast and budgeting activities, with a focus on wholesale pricing, margin analysis and financial reporting.

You will work with the Finance team to provide timely insights and ensure strong financial control, while enjoying a hybrid working pattern with 2 days from home.

Qualifications

• Studying towards, or qualified in, CIMA/ACCA or equivalent preferable.
• Experience in finance, accounting, commercial finance or analytical role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis ability.
• Good understanding of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication with non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to build positive working relationships across Finance and wider business teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts to deadlines.
• Assist month-end close activities: journals, accruals, reconciliations and variances.
• Prepare weekly/monthly/adhoc reports and performance insights.
• Support forecasting and budgeting with analysis and risk/opportunity flags.
• Maintain wholesale pricing information and margin analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data queries promptly.
• Review data for accuracy and propose corrective actions.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting packs to the Senior Finance Partner.
• Contribute to process improvements within finance control.
