PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,000 - £62,000 plus £5441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Commercial has an ambitious growth plan to double cashflow and grow our content studio in the next five years. This commercial transformation will only be achieved if it is underpinned by robust processes and procedures, a solid control environment, and efficient and reliable financial reporting.
As part the BBC Group's response to the revised version of the UK Corporate Governance Code, we are recruiting for an experienced Finance Analyst to support and drive the implementation of an effective Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework.
The ICFR Controls Specialist will support the implementation of the BBC ICFR framework and understanding of Financial Reporting risk across the organisation whilst ensuring that the high governance standards of the Group are met at a Commercial level.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Support the implementation and adoption of a new ICFR framework for BBC Commercial, aligning with BBC Group standards.
- Facilitate process workshops to document financial processes, risks, and controls, including IT controls, through flowcharts and narratives.
- Conduct walkthroughs and design effectiveness testing to ensure controls are well-documented and evidence is retained.
- Assist with operational effectiveness testing, including test plan design and execution in line with audit standards.
- Support remediation of control deficiencies and ensure Expected Minimum Controls (EMCs) address key risks.
- Contribute to ICFR reporting and annual certification, ensuring accuracy and alignment with BBC Group requirements.
- Provide ICFR expertise and training, supporting finance projects, stakeholder workshops, and collaboration with the BBC ICFR team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:- Part or fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in ICFR/SOX or audit, with a track record in developing and monitoring financial controls.
- Strong documentation and process mapping skills, including risk assessment and control design.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication, with the ability to explain financial controls to non-finance audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see projects through to completion
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:- Knowledge of IT controls (ITGC/ITAC)
- Experience of change management within an organisation, particularly in relation to implementing new frameworks and processes.
