About Our Client

We are supporting a logistics business in Warrington in recruiting a permanent Finance Analyst with strong Excel skills, due to business growth and ongoing contracts.

Job Description

1. Prepare accurate, timely, and user-friendly financial and commercial reports, including daily and weekly updates.
2. Assist in improving internal financial controls and procedures within the Operational Finance team.
3. Produce various revenue and cost reports to analyze subcontractor spend.
4. Analyze data to understand variances and collaborate with operational managers to identify risks and opportunities for financial improvement.
5. Create detailed weekly finance reports and accounts.
6. Utilize KPIs to drive business performance improvements.
7. Report on revenue and cost trends, highlighting variances to support operational decisions.
8. Coordinate with the Subcontract Manager to ensure accurate revenue and cost accounting weekly.
9. Generate monthly management accounts from weekly data, including accruals and prepayments.
10. Collaborate with other departments to meet reporting deadlines.
11. Work with managers to produce reforecasts and budgets throughout the year, and present these to Directors and Senior Management.
12. Ensure financial controls are in place for accurate interim and year-end accounts, working professionally with external auditors when needed.
13. Continuously review and improve processes for accuracy and timeliness.
14. Support various ad-hoc projects and provide general assistance to maintain business success.
15. Provide holiday cover across different Business Units as required.

The Successful Applicant

• Studying towards AAT, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Practical experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Operational accounting experience.
