Your new company

Hays Accountancy and Finance are partnering with a leading, well-established and growing family-run FMCG business to recruit a dynamic and experienced Finance Analyst for their Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire site. An interesting permanent position due to company growth reporting directly to the Financial Controller. The role will work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure the accuracy of MI production and analysis of key trends to flag risk/opportunities, looking into the details of performance data. Open to part-qualified/finalist or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA finance professionals and qualified by experience candidates. The role will also consider Management Accountants/Assistant Accountants with strong analytical skills who are looking to move into a focused Finance Analyst role.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve taking ownership of business information software to include management reporting, KPI reporting by department/site, creating/maintaining reports to analyse financial performance, cost/efficiency review/reporting, trend analysis, customer/product profitability analysis, sales analysis, verifying prices, along with updating cost models. You will highlight key trends to flag risk and opportunities for the Senior Management Team. You will support various projects to support business growth, working closely with the Financial Controller, including assisting with new business software improvements, building new cost models and helping develop internal audit reviews. The role will be tailored around the right candidate with development opportunities if wanted.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Finance Analyst role, you will need experience in a similar position, part-qualified/newly qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. Strong attention to detail with key analytical skills, key communication skills to partner internally/externally at all levels, with some commercial finance experience. You will be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines, be comfortable with financial systems with strong MS Excel skills to manipulate data. Experience with financial modelling, BI reporting (SQL) and previous knowledge of working within the manufacturing/FMCG sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
