Job description

Sewell Wallis is representing a long-standing client based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, who is seeking a Part Time Accountant.

Having worked with this business for many years and placed multiple candidates within this team and the wider organization, I am confident that this Part Time Accountant role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and advance your career.

The Hiring Manager is passionate about training and development, having progressed successfully herself. This role has become available due to an internal promotion.

What will you be doing?

  1. Producing Monthly Accounts for overhead cost centres.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of cost centre budgets and forecasts.
  3. Reconciliation and processing of prepayments, accruals, and standard charges.
  4. Managing company-paid credit cards.
  5. Performing Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  6. Completing national statistics returns.
  7. Overseeing and assisting with bank account reconciliations.
  8. Ensuring year-end schedules for tax packs are completed monthly.
  9. Reconciling PSA and submitting calculations to HMRC.
  10. Reconciling inter-company accounts monthly with other group companies.
  11. Preparing VAT returns quarterly.
  12. Processing ad hoc payment requests.
  13. Assisting with the preparation of Statutory Accounts and Tax Packs.
  14. Processing intercompany journals.
  15. Replenishing and reconciling petty cash.
  16. Reconciliation of Fixed Asset control accounts and management reports.
  17. Managing capital approval processes to ensure compliance with policies.

What skills are we looking for?

  1. Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
  2. Excellent communication skills.
  3. Proficient in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
  4. Experience in a similar role with Balance Sheet reconciliations.
