A leading international family entertainment company seeks a Finance Analyst to support the EMEA Media Networks team. This role includes financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis, providing crucial data to management while fostering stakeholder relationships. You will prepare forecasts and assist financial activities, contributing to a dynamic and innovative work environment.
About the Role & Team
The media Networks team are responsible for region wide financial consolidation, reporting and associated analysis of forecast, AOP and 5 Year Plan (5YP). The team provide direct support to the Media Networks EMEA management team, working very closely with the FP&A team in the US as well as regional hub programming & marketings and markets across the EMEA region.
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join the EMEA media networks Regional Finance team based in London on a permanent basis.
The Finance Analyst will support the EMEA Media Networks team in the delivery of the forecasts, AOP, 5YP and each quarter end close. This will encompass preparing forecasting files, extracting and analyzing financial data across Disney Channel, National Geographic and Star Channels as well as engaging with all EMEA markets.
What You Will Do
Delivery
Generate reports using finance and accounting systems to provide accurate data for use by colleagues/the business
Take responsibility for regular quarterly activities (e.g. quarter end close tasks, journals, reconciliations etc) to ensure effective financial administration for the budget area
Ensure effectivedelivery of forecasting and budgeting processes to support an assigned budget area
Analyse reporting data to identify themes and trends and highlight these to relevant business managers together with a view on the wider possible implications
Review specific profit/cost centres to identify issues, opportunities and possible solutions and flag them to senior colleagues or business managers as appropriate
Advisory
Work directly with business managers to provide basic financial support and reporting, advising them of trends and issues accordingly
Assist more senior colleagues in preparing presentations to communicate clear financial messages to the business
Management
Manage the provision of transactional support to a budget area, ensuring all transactions, processes and quarterly close activities are delivered on time and to the required standard
Supervise and mentor interns, delegating work as required, to ensure effective delivery of outputs and support their development
Share knowledge effectively across the function to facilitate good financial management
Required Qualifications & Skills
Good knowledge of specialist and complex finance, accounting methods and procedures gained either through part qualification (ACCA/CIMA – UK only) or equivalent experience in a similar commercial environment
Able to manage stakeholder relationships
Able to operate autonomously, without regular supervision
Able to influence others based on clear technical arguments
Able to communicate technical information clearly to a non-technical audience
