Job description

We’re supporting a London based University to recruit a Finance Analyst. The role is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Student Loan Company (SLC) financial data of the university, undertaking tasks relating to the invoicing, collection, reconciliation, and maintenance of the SLC income.

Job duties:

  1. Manage attendance and ledger reconciliations with SLC, addressing discrepancies and minimising overdue payments or debts.
  2. Manage weekly remittances, unallocated payments, and invoice resolutions, ensuring compliance with processes and timely follow-up.
  3. Prepare regular and month-end reports, providing detailed explanations of financial movements.
  4. Reconcile student assessments with records, liaising with relevant teams to resolve issues.
  5. Develop expertise in SLC procedures to provide effective advice and support.

Experience required:

  1. Demonstrable experience in managing and manipulating large volumes of data, providing accurate analysis.
  2. Advanced Excel skills - Must be able to complete Excel functions including Pivot tables and Vlookups.
  3. Ability to summarise and explain complex financial matters to both finance and non-finance staff, including external stakeholders and auditors.
  4. Experience of invoicing & collections in a consumer and business customer environment.
  5. Experience working in the Higher Education sector is highly desirable.

What’s on offer?

  1. Salary: £39,000 per annum (paid at an equivalent hourly rate).
  2. Contract Length: 3 months, with the potential for extension.
  3. Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
  4. Location: London.
  5. Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with one day per week on-site.
