Job Description
Company Overview: Taranis functions as the investment and asset management arm of the Perenco Group, focusing on sustainable development through four dedicated funds: Taranis Carbon Ventures, Taranis Energy for Africa, Taranis Decommissioning Fund, and Taranis Nature-Based Solutions. These initiatives aim to promote sustainability across various sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Budget and Planning:
- Collaborate with department heads to gather and consolidate budget inputs.
- Validate and analyze budget submissions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Reporting:- Produce accurate consolidated financial reports for management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including Budget, Forecasts, Actuals, and Ad Hoc reports.
- Contribute to designing and enhancing financial reports.
- Create dashboards and visual presentations to communicate financial performance to stakeholders.
- Implement quality controls to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure consistency of extra-financial data in financial reports.
Process Evolution and Optimization:- Develop and automate financial models to improve reporting efficiency.
- Research industry best practices and update reporting tools accordingly.
- Modernize reporting tools with new visualization solutions like Power BI.
- Document processes related to financial reporting.
Ad hoc Missions:- Support financial projects such as TM1 reporting updates, P2P solutions, ERP migrations, and internal tool development.
- Assist other finance team members to achieve company goals.
Building Financial Models:- Create detailed financial models and templates for cash flows, P&L, and balance sheets.
- Incorporate assumptions on costs, revenues, financing, and risks.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Evaluate financing options and determine optimal capital structures.
- Assess cost of capital and project returns.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in audit, finance consulting, or corporate finance.
- Master’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, ERP systems, and MS Office suite.
- Strong Power BI skills; knowledge of TM1 is a plus.
- Understanding of the African market and renewable energy sectors is beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborative, meticulous, flexible, and adaptive work approach.
- Proficiency in French or willingness to learn French is a plus.
