Job Description

The Commercial Finance Analyst (1 day in the office per week) will be responsible for:

• Partnering with Commercial Directors to optimise critical financial metrics, including revenue growth, margins, and working capital performance.
• Leading financial planning by orchestrating budgets, maintaining forecasts, and analysing variances to drive business performance.
• Transforming complex financial data into structured reports that provide clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Developing financial models for strategic initiatives, incorporating sensitivity analyses and risk assessments for business opportunities.
• Advising business leaders through in-depth financial analysis of commercial activities and market opportunities.
• Managing project financials by establishing monitoring frameworks and conducting post-implementation reviews.
• Driving process improvements by implementing automated solutions and standardised analytical frameworks.
• Supporting executive decisions through comprehensive financial analyses that combine quantitative and qualitative insights.
• Executing investment appraisals using NPV, IRR, and payback calculations to optimise resource utilisation.
• Collaborating with commercial teams to evaluate product launches and pricing strategies, ensuring thorough financial assessment.

The Successful Applicant

The Commercial Finance Analyst (1 day in the office per week) will be:

• A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong commercial acumen.
• Proven track record in a commercial finance role within retail or FMCG sectors.
• Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
• Strong financial modelling and scenario analysis capabilities.
• Deep understanding of retail metrics and KPIs.
• Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
