Job description

RAC have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our fast-paced and collaborative Consumer Roadside division at the RAC. This fixed-term role, running until January 2026, is pivotal in supporting the financial performance of our Retention business, with a focus on pricing, renewals, and proposition development for existing members.

Based at our Bradley Stoke office on a hybrid model of 2 office days & 3 remote. You’ll work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and commercial challenge that drives decision-making and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Insight & Decision Support

  • Provide financial insight and challenge to business leaders, particularly around:
    • Pricing and discounting strategies
    • Renewal rates by member cohort
    • Revenue impacts from mid-term changes (e.g. cancellations, upgrades, downgrades)
  • Support commercial decision-making through robust analysis including:
    • Net Present Value (NPV)
    • Cost-benefit analysis
    • Investment payback periods
Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Develop and maintain a suite of reports that combine volume and value metrics to:
    • Identify performance trends and variances
    • Analyse KPIs against budget and prior years
    • Highlight areas of under/over performance
  • Deliver insightful commentary and present findings in weekly/monthly trading and commercial reviews
  • Ensure stakeholders understand their financials and the business impact of their actions
Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the development of annual budgets and half yearly reforecasts
  • Ensure clarity of assumptions, phased budgeting, and stakeholder buy-in
  • Track performance against key financial and operational KPIs

What You’ll Need

This role is ideal for someone who is part-qualified or looking to grow their career in finance. You’ll bring a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with business stakeholders in a finance environment
  • SQL proficiency - ability to write queries and extract data from source systems
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
  • Strong understanding of commercial drivers and business performance metrics
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to challenge constructively and build relationships across functions
