Description
Core Accounting & Reporting:
- Support the month-end process with preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with production and analysis of monthly management accounts, including site performance reporting.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with site and central teams.
Operational Finance & Business Partnering
- Analyse cost drivers and highlight areas of variance, wastage, or inefficiency.
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, and procurement to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve process, and increase profitability across departments.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team on finance-related aspects of operational change projects.
- Provide insight and data to support business cases for investment or efficiency.
- Challenge existing processes and support the implementation of improved controls and reporting tools.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior stakeholders.
Profile
A Successful Finance Analyst Should Have
- A recognised qualification or part-qualification in accounting (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within the Manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Sound knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
- An analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
