Description
- Assist in the development and upkeep of long-term financial models, contributing to the University's 5-year planning process alongside the Senior Financial Analyst.
- Oversee monthly, mid-year, and annual reconciliation of income, including fees from academic partnerships, ensuring compliance with budgets, accounting standards, and franchise agreements.
- Maintain models tracking pay expenditure against budgets, identify and investigate variances, and provide insights to support monthly and long-term staffing and financial reviews.
- Prepare and analyse financial and operational data for regulatory returns and internal reporting, offering clear commentary on trends and year-on-year changes.
- Design and maintain system-generated reports using finance platforms and business intelligence tools to meet internal and external reporting requirements efficiently.
- Partner with systems accountants to refine and update reports, resolve data issues, and improve reporting processes in line with changing business and system needs.
- Keep documentation well-organised with version control, and undertake additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
Profile
A successful Finance Analyst should have:
- A CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, tools and Microsoft Excel e.g pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs (essential)
- Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.
- An understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
