Company Description

Like Brakes, 'Sysco International' is part of the wider Sysco family. Due to a significant period of transformation and growth, we now have an exciting new opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join the International Finance Reporting team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting, this role will partner with Technology colleagues across Europe. Responsibilities include reviewing business cases, CAPEX and OPEX spend of projects to ensure correct and consistent accounting, owning the reporting of European Technology projects, managing project costs, and supporting business decisions based on the accounting of these projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the European Technology Transformation is delivered on time and accurately reported.

The role will also involve partnering with International FP&A to ensure actual spend aligns with business cases and assisting in understanding variances. You will implement and manage the process for technology recharges across European markets, ensuring compliance with tax, reporting, and FP&A requirements.

This is a hybrid working role, requiring weekly presence at the Brakes office in Ashford, Kent, with flexibility for occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  1. Manage multiple European Technology projects, reviewing accounting and stakeholder inputs to ensure correct treatment at month-end within deadlines.
  2. Oversee actual spend processing, ensuring classification aligns with accounting standards; manage accruals, prepayments, and purchase orders.
  3. Partner with International FP&A to ensure spend aligns with business cases and analyze variances.
  4. Define and implement processes for managing recharges across European markets, ensuring alignment with tax, reporting, and FP&A.
  5. Review third-party contracts for cloud-based software and prepare accounting treatment assessments.
  6. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and insights, creating and executing project plans accordingly.
  7. Collaborate with European Technology leaders to ensure proper project accounting within standards and tax regulations.
Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates are ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or finalists, with strong Excel modeling skills and experience creating user-friendly templates for reporting and analysis. Preferably at a Management Accountant level, with industry experience and a solid understanding of core finance and accounting standards. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive work approach are essential.
