Job description

We're looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Administrator to join our team, supporting the day-to-day administration that sits across Finance, Payroll and HR.

A key part of the role will be supporting the accurate operation and administration of Sage Payroll and Sage HR, helping us maintain reliable employee records, process payroll information and ensure changes are captured accurately and on time.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with systems, data and people. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, providing dependable administrative support and helping ensure our payroll and HR processes run smoothly.

Previous experience using Sage Payroll and/or Sage HR would be particularly valuable, although we're equally interested in candidates with strong payroll, finance or HR administration experience who are comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation and administration of the company payroll using Sage Payroll.
  • Maintain accurate employee information and records within Sage HR.
  • Process starters, leavers and changes to employee details accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with payroll inputs including hours, overtime, absence, deductions and other variable pay information.
  • Carry out checks on payroll information and help resolve discrepancies before processing.
  • Maintain holiday, absence and employee records within Sage HR.
  • Support pension and other payroll-related administration.
  • Respond to routine payroll and HR administration queries from employees and managers.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation in line with company processes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required.
  • Assist with reconciliations, data checking and reporting.
  • Work with managers and colleagues to ensure information required for payroll deadlines is received on time.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline administrative processes.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling employee and financial information.
About You

We're looking for someone who is accurate, organised and comfortable working with numbers, systems and confidential information.

  • Previous experience in payroll, finance administration, HR administration or a similar office-based role.
  • Experience using Sage Payroll and/or Sage HR would be a strong advantage.
  • Good numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Comfortable working with systems and maintaining accurate data.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to regular deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional approach when dealing with confidential employee information.
  • The confidence to follow up missing or incorrect information with colleagues and managers.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider Finance team when required.

You don't need to be a qualified accountant. For this role, we're particularly interested in someone with strong administrative skills and practical payroll or HR systems experience who can become a dependable part of the team.

What We Offer
  • Salary of up to £28,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to develop your experience across payroll, HR systems and finance administration.
  • Company pension.
  • Health Care Plan.
  • 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays.
  • Your birthday off after one year's service.
  • A varied role within a growing property services business.
