Job summary

South West Metal Finishing Ltd is seeking a meticulous Quality Assurance Inspector to join our quality team, ensuring products meet customer specifications and industry standards. You will collaborate with production, engineering, planning and logistics to sustain high quality and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include inspecting finished work, pre-inspection of incoming orders, maintaining quality documentation, calibrating inspection equipment and liaising with customers

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures.
• Experience using inspection or measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.
• Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with customer specs and industry standards.
• Conduct pre-inspection of incoming orders before release to production.
• Maintain inspection documentation accurately and on time.
• Calibrate and verify inspection equipment regularly.
• Raise and manage internal non-conformances and review Certificates of Conformity.
• Support continuous improvement by updating procedures and work instructions.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.

Job description

This role is critical in ensuring that all products meet national, international, and customer-specific requirements before delivery. Working closely with production and operational teams, you will help maintain the highest quality standards whilst supporting a culture of continuous improvement, open communication, and operational excellence.

About the Role

South West Metal Finishing is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our quality team.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with customer specifications, company procedures, and industry standards.
• Conduct pre-inspection of incoming orders before release to production.
• Work with Value Stream Managers to prioritise inspection activities in line with production and delivery schedules.
• Complete all inspection and quality documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform calibration and verification checks on inspection equipment.
• Raise and manage internal non-conformances.
• Review and approve Certificates of Conformity.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve procedures and work instructions.
• Attend departmental SQDCP meetings and contribute to quality discussions.
• Liaise professionally with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Planning, Sales, Logistics and EHS teams.
• Assist in developing and improving inspection areas and quality processes.
