Key responsibilities

Billing & revenue support

  • Review time entries, disbursements, and expenses to ensure accurate and compliant billing
  • Respond to billing-related queries and support invoice amendments or credit notes as required

Accounts payable & receivable

  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into financial systems
  • Monitor the accounts inbox and assist with supplier and client queries
  • Support month-end reconciliation processes and ensure appropriate authorisations are in place

Credit control

  • Work alongside the Credit Controller to help monitor aged debt and outstanding balances
  • Assist in contacting clients to follow up on payments in a professional and proactive manner
  • Help update and maintain the debtor ledger

Data entry & financial record keeping

  • Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant
  • Assist with payment tracking and bank reconciliations
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial documentation for internal or external review

Financial reporting & compliance

  • Support the generation of routine financial reports and analysis
  • Help prepare data for internal reviews and ad hoc reporting
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, SRA rules, and audit requirements

General administration

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance team
  • Scan, file, and archive documents in accordance with data protection and retention policies
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., HR, Operations, Legal Support) to support process efficiency
About you

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop their finance skills in a legal services environment. You’ll be:

  • Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field
  • Highly numerate, accurate, and detail-focused
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Professional and approachable, with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Previous finance or office administration experience is desirable, but not essential
Why join us?
  • Be part of a growing, forward-thinking law firm with a strong sense of purpose
  • Supportive, inclusive team environment with a strong focus on training and development
