Job Details
  • Location: Oxford Road, Manchester
  • Salary: £27,644 to £30,805 per annum, depending on relevant experience
  • Job type: Full Time, Permanent. 35 hours per week.

About the Role

Are you an organized and proactive finance professional looking to support one of the UK's leading universities? This role involves providing vital financial and administrative support within the Estates Support team, focusing on process improvement and accurate financial transactions. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Financial Administration committed to customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase invoices, manage requisitions, and oversee the 'purchase to pay' process ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and management information, including expenditure reports for maintenance, utilities, and small works.
  • Guide colleagues on financial regulations, procedures, and purchasing policies.
  • Support business unit managers with budget tracking, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Provide cross-unit support, especially in the absence of team members.
  • Handle internal and external enquiries with excellent customer service.
Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ II/III in Financial Administration or equivalent, with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerBI), and familiarity with Oracle and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in budget management, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to reconcile spend, forecast, and identify discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative working ability.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation in office and site environments.
