Role Overview

This is a pivotal role within the Senior Finance Team, focusing on the financial management of PFS’s core operations, especially its Housing Schemes. With two new legal entities joining the group, the Commercial Financial Accountant will take ownership of financial accounting, reporting, and strategic financial projects that support the charity’s growth and governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial accounting for PFS’s Housing Schemes and main operations.
  • Support growth and renewal plans including acquisitions, onboarding new homes, and financing strategies.
  • Conduct commercial reviews to ensure sustainable financial returns.
  • Manage charity and company governance projects, including structural simplification.
  • Oversee covenant reporting and loan management.
  • Drive system improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
  • Assist with banking relationships and investment/reserve policy development.
  • Maintain internal audit and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with Housing Scheme Managers and other departments.
  • Produce high-quality financial and management reports.
  • Participate in daily prayer meetings and model Christian values in the workplace.
Person Specification

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance team.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified preferred.
  • Open to Part-Qualified and Actively studying.
  • Charity accounting knowledge (Charity SORP) beneficial.
  • Experience with SAGE 200 preferred.
