Job summary

Polytec are looking for a Final Test Engineer for our client based a few miles west of Cambridge. You will test products in accordance with established procedures ensuring that deadlines and manufacturing targets are met. Training for the first 3 months on a dayshift 7:15am to 4pm, then transfer to a late shift 1:45pm to 9:30pm.

Location: Cambourne (CB23). Salary: £20.39 per hour. Ongoing position with potential for shift change as required.

Qualifications

• Experience of fault-finding on electronic or electromechanical systems.
• Ability to test, calibrate and operate complex electromechanical systems using UI software.
• Experience assembling and testing precision instrumentation.
• Experience in electromechanical test environments.
• Able to follow test specifications and SOPs.
• GCSE Maths and English completed.

Responsibilities

• Assembly, sub-assembly and testing
• Trouble-shoot malfunctions
• Carrying out basic modifications as required
• Maintenance of test equipment
• Participate in Lean activities as required
• Contribute to driving continuous improvement, identifying waste in test processes
• Maintain processes and procedures consistent with ISO standards.

• GCSE Mathematics and English
• Qualification in Electronics / Mechatronics (Time served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, Btec Level 3 or 4-year apprenticeship)
• Experience using MS Windows
