An established industry player is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to oversee the final machining area for gas turbine engine components. This role encompasses project leadership, technical guidance, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance manufacturing processes. The Lead Process Engineer for the final machining area has responsibility for all aspects of the manufacturing elements required to finish machine blade and vane components of gas turbine engines. There will be ownership of projects related to these processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and manufacturing productivity. The role requires cross-functional team involvement to solve issues and make long term plans for improvements. This role has a people leader element for a small group of advanced machine technicians as well as project leadership. The final machining areas consist of NC mills, Inspection technologies, Automation systems for pick and place, Lead edge profile systems, manual benching, and dot marking systems (list is not all encompassing). The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
