Job description

We are looking for film selectors to help us programme the festival. Your role will be to watch a package of films from a specific category and to provide concise, constructive feedback on each film, considering the values of the festival and the aims of each strand. You will need to attend online meetings to discuss your films and help with programming decisions.

We are a small and enthusiastic team on a new festival, so the more you would like to get involved, the better! We would like each film selector to watch around five hours of films, but if you would like to be more involved in the festival, we are happy to support you and welcome your input.

You will have:

  • Passion for short films
  • Wide range of interest in film genres
  • A commitment to supporting local and student filmmakers

Nottingham Film Festival is entering its second year, and we are looking for a team of film pre-selectors to help develop our programme. We are based out of Mammoth, A Climate Action Cinema, and our festival is built from our basis in community-building, environmental sustainability and local activism. We accept films in categories addressing mental health, the environment, queer stories, dance and more, and our events aim to encourage networking for filmmakers and direct communication with our audience.
