Job summary

RJ Urmson Group, part of the HSL Compliance Group, is seeking a field-based on-site technical specialist to clean, flush and chemically treat closed-loop heating, chilled water and domestic systems across high-profile sites.

You will perform pre-commission cleaning, chemical dosing, disinfection, and on-site testing, ensuring compliance with BSRIA BG29/BG50, ACOP L8 and HSG274. A driving licence and CSCS card are essential, with travel regionally and flexibility expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in pre-commission cleaning, flushing and chlorinations.
• 2+ years in broader water treatment preferred.
• Familiar with BSRIA BG29, BG50, BS8552, HSG274, and ACOP L8.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics on site.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work flexible hours.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
• Valid CSCS Card (Essential)
• Ability to pass standard site security clearances / DBS checks where required

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commission cleaning and dynamic system flushing of closed-loop heating and chilled water networks in strict accordance with BSRIA BG29 and BG50 guidelines.
• Undertake specialist chemical cleaning, including acid descaling of plant, boilers, heat exchangers, and pipework.
• Carry out mains disinfections and chlorination of domestic water systems in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274 standards.
