Job summary

Bristol Water, a trusted UK water supplier, is seeking a Water Quality Technician to support the Scientific Services Team in protecting public health and ensuring compliant water quality across the network.

This field-based role involves collecting and analysing samples at assets and customer properties, carrying out on-site tests, and maintaining precise records. The role requires strong organisational skills and good communication, with a weekend/standby rota as part of the delivery schedule.

Qualifications

• Able to plan and prioritise daily sampling routes.
• Proven attention to detail in data logging and reporting.
• Competent with IT tools and data handling.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Experience with regulatory data and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily sampling routes across the Bristol Water network.
• Collect water samples from assets and customer properties.
• Perform on-site testing for chemical/physical water quality parameters.
• Label, log and record samples accurately.
• Carry out equipment checks and quality control testing.
• Transport samples to the laboratory for analysis and report results.
• Represent Bristol Water professionally when engaging with customers.
