A transportation service provider is looking for a Field Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair their fleet of electric and ICE buses. This role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to perform routine maintenance and safety checks. Candidates must hold a Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance qualification and have experience with EV systems. This is a field-based position offering competitive salary and shift allowances.
Location: Field Based (reporting to Thurrock Service Centre)
Employment Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: GBP42,804 + shift allowance (up to 30%)

You ll be the go-to expert for diagnostics, servicing, and repairs across multiple customer sites. This is a varied, hands-on field role ideal for someone who thrives on technical challenges and autonomy.
As a Field Vehicle Technician EV & ICE Buses, you ll play a vital role in keeping public transport vehicles road-ready, delivering reliable service to operators and passengers alike.
Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair faults on EV and ICE-powered buses
Carry out routine maintenance and safety inspections
Provide on-site technical support to customer depots
Complete accurate job documentation and digital reports
Liaise with technical teams to resolve complex issues
You will also represent the company in a professional manner as a Field Vehicle Technician EV & ICE Buses, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction at every interaction.
RequirementsFull UK Driving Licence and PSV Licence
Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance (City & Guilds or equivalent)
EV high-voltage system training
Solid diagnostic skills across both ICE and electric systems
