Job summary

SSE is seeking a Utility Arborist to join our busy team. This mobile, field-based role requires you to base within 30 minutes of our depot near Petersfield and travel as needed to support a planned tree-cutting programme.

You will assess sites, plan work activities, and cut/manage vegetation near our distribution network while maintaining the highest safety standards. A driving licence is essential, and experience with power lines is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous forestry/arboriculture experience is essential.
• NPTC certificate units for chainsaw use and NPTC/UAs qualification required.
• Demonstrates safety focus and adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage trees/vegetation near the distribution network to support safe, reliable electricity supply.
• Plan and carry out tree-cutting operations across various environments and voltage levels.
• Work with experienced colleagues to maintain safety and comply with standards.
