Job Description

The Opportunity:

I'm on the lookout for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to develop their career in Field Service Engineering.

You will be trained to conduct installation and maintenance activities on a variety of roadside electronic equipment within your patch (CCTV, ANPR, Sensors, etc.), working alongside a team of experienced engineers to maintain the electrical infrastructure in your patch.

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have worked in a roadside environment (telecoms, utilities, traffic signals, etc.), with ticketing machines (ticket vending, entrance gates, oyster card readers) or those coming from the Armed Forces (Signals, Navy, Engineers, etc.).

Skills and Experience:

  • A background in installation or maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment
  • Willingness to work in a roadside environment and at heights
  • Able to undertake night work 1 week in 4 (consisting of 4 x 10 hour shifts)
  • Able to pass basic criminal background checks
  • Previous experience working CCTV, ANPR or similar technologies would be beneficial
  • Knowledge/exposure to IT Networking (IP, LAN, WAN, Routing, etc.)
  • Full UK drivers licence

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out installation, commissioning and maintenance activities on all equipment in line with the provided schedule
  • Undertake software, hardware and systems testing
  • Coordinate with the lead engineers to arrange maintenance and inspection schedules
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety procedures and produce required documentation
  • Manage small projects/tasks, which could include budget, schedule and quality requirements

Location: Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Berkshire

Earnings: £35,000 to £37,000 per year + company works vehicle
