Job description

CBEC eco-engineering UK Ltd, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Consultant Field Technician/Scientist on a full-time permanent basis. This is a hybrid home, on-site and office-based role located in Central Scotland. This is a newly created opportunity for a Field Technician/Scientist to join our rapidly growing team.

CBEC eco-engineering is a leading UK environmental consultant specialising in the provision of eco-engineering solutions for the aquatic environment. The business offers innovative, ecologically sensitive, sustainable and process-based approaches using its expertise in geomorphology, river and wetland restoration, hydrology, hydraulic modelling and field services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting topographic/bathymetric surveys
  • Supporting morphological, hydrological or other physical river assessments
  • Processing collected data and generating required outputs
  • Manipulating and analysing data using GIS, Excel and CAD
  • Provision of technical input to project reports and proposals and communicating regularly with project managers and other technical team members
  • Adhering to all HSE requirements (e.g. site inductions) and undertaking risk assessments and method statements (following training).

Person Specification

  • Be educated to at least degree level in a relevant subject, with an interest/ understanding of river environments
  • A willingness to travel within the UK and to work outside in adverse weather conditions
  • Proficient with the suite of Microsoft products
  • Good communication skills (e.g. liaising internally with the CBEC project team and externally with clients as well as report writing)
  • Ability to use initiative and best-judgement to resolve problems
  • Full UK Driving licence

Salary and Benefits

• Up to £8,188.00 per annum depending on experience

• A flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, health cash plan and discounted gym membership
