Field Technician

Location: North London

Salary: £18.00 per hour, Inside IR35 (Paid via Umbrella PAYE - £516+ take home per week)

Are you experienced in installing or replacing equipment within retail stores? Are you seeking your next contract role with provided vehicle and fuel card, with all expenses covered?

Our client is a leading service provider to supermarket stores nationwide. Due to ongoing projects, they require an individual to join the field team covering North London to install and/or replace security shields on chip & pin devices at checkout tills. This role may involve working across other UK sites. All expenses, accommodation (when needed), vehicle, and fuel card are covered.

The ideal candidate will have previous retail environment experience, such as working with Point of Sale devices. The installation requires basic skills, but reporting and documentation are crucial, so attention to detail and professionalism are essential.

The Role:

1. Install/replace PIN security shields on Chip & PIN devices at checkout tills. Report issues immediately to project management. Liaise with store staff to ensure minimal impact on daily trade during installation.

1. Field-based role covering North London. A tube ticket can be arranged if preferred.

1. Start date estimated between 21st and 28th April. Project duration: 10-12 weeks.

1. 8-hour workdays (9.5 hours including travel; 45 minutes unpaid for travel time).

1. A DBS check is required unless you have a recent certificate.

The Candidate:

• Excellent communication skills with customers and project teams.
• Experience working in busy retail environments, minimizing impact on staff and customers.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management.

• Full UK, clean driving license.

• Willingness to travel and stay away when required; reliable.

• Recent DBS check or willingness to obtain one (free of charge).
