Starting Salary Circa £30,534 – depending on skills and experience
+ standby payments + business use of company van
Permanent, 37 hours, Full Time

What you will be doing?

As a Sewer Technician in Water Recycling Services, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding the environment and public health, while maintaining critical infrastructure. Your responsibilities include addressing issues such as blockages, odours, flooding, and incidents, delivering exceptional service while adhering to environmental standards.

You'll be part of our standby roster, ready for out-of-hours work to ensure continuous service. Safety is paramount, and you'll be expected to follow health and safety protocols diligently.

Your duties will include:

  • Operating a single-person, high-pressure water jetting unit and CCTV equipment, with training provided
  • Identifying and promoting repair work for sewerage network issues
  • Investigating and resolving sewerage issues encountered by customers
  • Responding to incidents and completing planned maintenance
  • Recording feedback from sites via our IT systems
  • Working mostly alone, engaging with internal and external customers daily

What does it take to be a Sewer Technician?

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; hands-on/manual experience is beneficial
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Full driving license; a 4.5-tonne license is advantageous (training provided if needed)
  • Ability to work within confined spaces and at heights without restrictions; maximum weight limit of 113 kg for harness use, with relevant health checks including HAV
