Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Support Engineer to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective, and efficient engineering service across the Betfred UK Retail Estate. The successful candidate will support, maintain, repair, and refurbish IT equipment within our High Street Licensed Betting Offices.
Job Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair network infrastructure, audio/visual systems, CCTV, self-service terminals, IT equipment, and peripherals.
- Provide regular updates to management and maintain communication with the Retail Service Desk and Support teams.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Report for duty as scheduled, ensuring equipment is available, and coordinate with Workshop and Logistics as needed.
- Support betting-related technical hardware and equipment to minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain high standards of technical support during business hours and sporting events.
- Complete installation reports and sign off on incident tickets.
- Install and decommission stock using Stock Audit systems.
- Secure and store equipment safely when not in use.
- Submit daily timesheets accurately and on time.
- Communicate proactively with internal and external departments to support operations.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, maintaining a professional appearance.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Work safely, escalating safety concerns as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Full, valid driving license is essential.
- Willingness to travel medium to long distances.
- Flexible with work schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable with travel and staying away from home.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in general computer usage and digital tools.
- Good problem-solving skills with a logical approach.
- Ability to learn and apply new systems.
- Knowledge of networking principles and basic infrastructure support.
- Experience with Audio/Visual installation and RF distribution.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
- Maintain professionalism in high-pressure environments.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and resourceful.
