Field Services Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Services Engineer to provide on-site after-sales support for port machinery, including reach stackers, forklifts, and telehandlers. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The position is based in Melbourne or Brisbane but requires flexibility to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of port machinery (reach stackers, forklifts, telehandlers, ECH).
2. Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
3. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance evaluations.
4. Provide technical training and guidance to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
5. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, engineering) to escalate complex issues and improve product design.
6. Prepare detailed service reports, including fault analysis, repair actions, and parts usage.
7. Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
8. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all service activities.

Requirements:

1. 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing heavy machinery, preferably port equipment (reach stackers, forklifts, or telehandlers).
2. Strong troubleshooting skills with proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
3. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including regional and international assignments.
4. Excellent communication skills in English; ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Valid driver’s license and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
6. Candidates must hold valid Australian work rights.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with OEM-specific software and diagnostic tools.
2. Certifications in safety (e.g., Work at Heights, Confined Spaces) or machinery operation.
3. Experience working in port / logistics environments.
