Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems in the United Kingdom offers an apprentice role within the Field Services area, providing a supported learning environment to develop skills and knowledge that lead to a relevant qualification.

As part of the programme, you will follow a development plan agreed with your supervisor, attend college, complete assignments on time and work on projects, timelines and budgets set by the Manager/Apprenticeship Supervisor, while gaining practical maintenance experience on

Business Unit: Cubic Transportation Systems Company Details: An apprentice role Job Details:

As an apprentice within the Field Services area, you will work in a supported learning environment to develop skills and knowledge which will assist in completing a relevant qualification.

Job duties and responsibilities:
  • Essential To undertake a development programme leading to a National Vocational Qualification as part of an apprenticeship.
  • Be willing to undertake any training and qualifications appropriate to the apprenticeship.
  • To actively participate in their own development plan which, will be agreed with the line manager and the apprentice supervisor.
  • Attend college and complete assignments on time.
  • Complete projects, timings and budgets as set by the Manager/Apprenticeship Supervisor.
  • Gain skills required to carry out: First and second line maintenance on any equipment as contracted to CTS at any time.
  • Respond and repair Cubic devices in a timely manner and follow defined maintenance procedures to maximise device reliability and availability.
  • To undertake the training and development programme provided to the best of your ability.
  • To constantly improve performance through training, experience and KPI feedback.
  • To minimise downtime on fault call outs.
  • To assist with the installation or commissioning of equipment as required by CTS management.
  • To aim at maintaining of quality principles compatible with current ISO standards.
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures.
  • In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

  • Essential Able to follow instruction and learn new tasks.

  • Able to attend work at required times.
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship.

Essential education and qualifications:
  • 5 GCSEs with passes including English and maths or equivalent Current grading system L4 and above in all subjects
